For our Partner, a IT and outsourcing company, we are looking for Release Train Manager to join a team in NatWest structures.

What are the skills, knowledge and experience needed to do the role?
• Experienced technologist with collaboration and communication skills
• Understanding of modern architecture patterns such as digital, microservices and PaaS
• Agile experience including tools as well as techniques such as continuous integration
• Experience of working with JIRA and Confluence
• Knowledge of DevOps approaches and working practices
• Great interpersonal skills, so you can work with both senior business and technical stakeholders
• Experience with delivery governance, particularly around implementation to production.
• Experience of PI planning activity.

Responsibilities:
What does this role holder do? (Accountabilities )
• Responsible for the development and maintenance of platform input to the overarching release train including the preparation and review of release & environment strategy; plans & estimation; management of interdependencies; providing cross-team synchronization ensuring teams have a clear understanding of how their work helps the customer.
• Drives continuous improvement across delivery via various channels (improving or removing manual steps, enhancing the deployment and management phases of the development lifecycle) through agile coaching, inspect and adapt workshops, proactive assessment of alternative delivery approaches and active contribution to release and environment best practice. Demonstrably improving release train agility and value to end state customers.
• Responsible for the management and optimisation of the flow of business value delivery of programmes using agile tools and techniques.
• Builds and communicates release calendars and iterative planning cycles and synchronises with other RTMs across domains.
• Leads and facilitates the planning readiness of teams by facilitating and fostering the preparation of release and sprint vision and goals and work pipelines and facilitating pre and post planning meetings.
• Aggregates the team planning objectives into programme and portfolio objectives and publishes them for visibility and transparency.
• Assists with execution and delivery of business outcomes / Features and Capabilities through completion tracking and metric reporting, escalates and tracks impediments as required.
• Leads and facilitates synchronisation and dependency meeting across teams, value streams and domains.
• Assists with the economic decision-making by facilitating estimation by teams and the roll up to programme and portfolio levels.
• Encourages collaboration between all roles across teams, value streams, domains and Centres of Excellence including risk/dependency management Liaises and coordinates with Product Owners, Domain and Platform leads and other stakeholders to ensure strategy and delivery alignment.
• Reports status to Programme/Portfolio management and Release Management and supports related activities.
• Drives and collates Release Governance across platforms.
